It’s that time, once again, to do my yearly reflections on everything that has happened in 2017.
Personally, it was a great year for me, as I continued to flourish in my writing skills. Publishing my second novel (whoo-hoo) was a great accomplishment and made me feel as though I’ve made the right decision to follow my dream. Then holding my very first solo event was equally fulfilling feeling, as I managed to step quite outside of my comfort zone. It was nerve racking, but so worth the butterflies in my stomach. I had the support of so many people who helped encouragement me, none bigger than the most important person in my life; my husband, Rick. I know that I say this a lot, but, I don’t think I would have gotten to this place without him and his unwavering support.
Now, outside of that, I realize that 2017 has been a hard year overall in general. We became divided as not only a nation, but as a people. There has been more discord and general wrongness over many areas. There has been tragedy and suffering beyond measure. So much so, that most of us have paused and asked ourselves how did we get here? What has happened to our humanity? Why is there so much hate? Unfortunately, none of us have the answers to those questions. And, unless we find a way to truly come together, we are only headed into more of a nosedive. Our motto as a nation was “E Pluribus Unum or Out of Many, One” and I believe we desperately need to get back to that.
So, what’s ahead for 2018? Nothing but new beginnings and opportunities for my family. Going to continue to step out on my dream of writing, a big move and much more. I’ve already started working on book three (hopefully I will finally come up with a series name). Going to try to get some more events under my belt. Nothing but reaching for the stars for me. Hope you do the same!
I hope each and everyone of you all reading this will continue to be blessed and strive for greatness. There is nothing or no one standing in the way of your dreams and accomplishments other than you. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something. Just shake them off and keep rising to the top! May 2018 bring the best you imaginable. Peace and Blessings to you all!
